What this site does
king-arthur.folklore.im retells Arthurian legends in our own words from public-domain medieval and Victorian texts, and sets them beside what historians and archaeologists actually say. It has a places atlas, a timeline, a quiz, a sorting game and a stamp card. It is made for curious readers, families and teachers. It is not an official heritage website.
Truth first
Every factual sentence carries one of three labels: History, Literature or Tradition. A story in a medieval book is never presented as a historical event, and a place with an Arthurian name is never presented as proof that Arthur was there.
Not connected with any film or TV show
This site draws only on medieval and Victorian texts and public-domain pictures. It is not connected with, or endorsed by, any film, television, game or toy company, or any business that uses an Arthurian name.
